Packed up, Are we there yet?

Here's our storage unit before we left, actually we came back with 2 more loads to put in her. It is packed to the max, front to back, floor to ceiling!!!!! I wish I would've taken a picture of our car- we had our Yakima on top, a toehitch rack on the back with 9 storage bins and the stroller, and the inside stuffed like a puzzle around all of us!!!!!!! I can't believe we fit all that we wanted, we only had to leave behind a few bags of groceries and a garbage can!!! So with no trailer, we had awesome gas mileage on the denali and saved money for not getting a trailer and less gas! A+ for budget there! :)

So we left about 9 pm Friday night, Nathan drove for 3 hours, then I did, then we stopped to sleep for 3 hours, then drove the rest of the way mostly Nathan. We get about an hour or 2 away late Sunday night/early in the am of monday and the interstate is closed for an emergency, so we had to take a scenic route around the river instead of straight across, took an extra hour, then we were approaching our time of arrival and were still in farm land of IL, then realized the GPS was still set for Arizona time, that's the last time we used it! So we finally get to our apartment complex at about 330 am and there are techs living in our apartment until the next morning, so we were going to sleep in an empty one just for tonight, Nathan gets the key and we go over, we open the door and there is someone's purse on the chair, and pictures on the fridge.... I felt a little like the 3 bears trying to find Goldilocks! So we stepped out in the hall and Nathan checked the bedroom... sure enough, people sleeping away!!!!!!!!! So we call Josh at 4am, he didn't know the lead Tech filled that "empty room", so we went to a hotel, paid 50 bucks to sleep for 5 hours cause we had to be out by 11, then waited around till noon for the techs to move out of our apartment, and finally could start movin' in and unpacking!!!!!!! But glad to say, we are all moved in and are ready to explore CHICAGO!!!!!!!!
