Favorite brownies!

Recipe from America's Test Kitchen Cooks Country Cook Book!- My fav cook book!

1 stick (8 T) unsalted butter
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate (or I just use about 1/3c cocoa)
Melt above together in microwave and stir
2/3 c flour
1/2 t baking powder
1/4 t salt
Mix flour, powder and salt
1 c sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla (I always double my Mexican vanilla)
Whisk sugar eggs and vanilla together and add chocolate mixture.
Then add flour, mix until just combined
Bake 350 for about 30 min
1/2 nuts-optional
1 c choc chips- optional

Other variations:
dollop peanut butter on top and swirl with a knife, then bake
The picture above is cookie dough dolloped on top
After cooled, melt 2/3 c choc chips and 1 T oil and make choc frosting
Melt white chocolate chips and spread on top and sprinkle crushed peppermint over it
Or just make the brownies and put chocolate chips in it!

Another tip: make a brownie sling, 2 pieces of foil on top of each other, like a t, and put in dish, spray foil, then when done, you can pick foil right up out of pan lay out and cut perfect brownies:)
